STRIMONA started its business in 1998 as a commercial company trading metal. In 2003 it took the first orders for steel (metal) structures manufacturing on customer's design and project. By that time Strimona built its own factory for steel structures manufacturing. Nowadays, STRIMONA is among the biggest manufacturers in Balkan Peninsula with a production capacity of approximately 2 500 tonnes. The production unit of STRIMONA with a total area of 16 000 sq. m. involves two workshops, outside warehouses and manufacturing sites provided with a portal crane. The production equipment includes a production line for automated flux welding composite sections, hot blasting machine for surface treatment of metal components, CNC system for oxygen and plasma cutting of sheet metal, mobile plasma cutters, tape cutting machine, MIG-MAG welding equipment, lathes, milling machines, hydraulic presses and guillotine shears, bending machines, rounding machines, pipe bending machine, magnetic drilling machines, forklifts, portal crane, bridge cranes and others. Human resources - management staff - Chief Engineer, technologists, programmers of metalworking machine with digital control, head of workshop, foremen. Production and installation staff - teams of scheming and installation workers, lathe and cutter operators, welders and painters. The installation work of STRIMONA is provided with a 9.5-tonne truck-mounted crane with 29-metre jib capable to be additionally equipped; a combined petrol aggregate for welding and 9 phase electricity supply; a mobile diesel welding aggregate; 3-phase inverter electric welding machines and so on.

Construction steel is distinguished for its high yield point and ultimate tensile strength; good ductility, reduced tendency to get worn out or fractured, increased fatigue limit, exfoliation intolerance, weldability, potential to be easy processed and corrosion resistance. All the above gives a steel building the following benefits:
High loading capacity despite the low weight of the building itself. This allows larger distances between the supports and much more easier and cost-effective foundations.
Requires minimum space. When the hardiness is combined with appropriate sections selection and optimal design solution it contributes to minimum space requirements for the bearing and enclosing structures of the buildings.
Reliability: As a result of the high quality materials and products, uniformly controlled quality, full compliance with computing requisites and design, as well as no such rheological processes as shrinkage and creep in concrete.
High seismic security. Steel structures are the indisputable leader here. Their low own weight determines less inertia in case of earthquake. This combined with the high ductility of well-designed steel structures make them to react against seismic forces.
Requires simple and very few connecting devices. Most of the steel structures can be assembled and the structural elements have been prefabricated under factory conditions. The construction itself is nothing more than assembly of prefabricated components by the means of connecting devices.
The production is reduced to very few and fairly simple technological processes. The wide range of standard manufactured profiles and sheet steel available enables the production of the steel structure elements itself to be limited to: cleaning the materials, shaping the basic materials, shaping and preparing components by lathing and milling, assembly, welding, corrosion protection and stacking.
Easy to be renovated, modernized or moved. Renovation of a steel structure is simply painting the items over. This should be done in intervals of 15-20 years.
Environmentally friendly Steel used in steel structures can be recycled at the end of its life or at any other time.

In 2008 STRIMONA took its first steps in planning and controlling the management of construction projects. Market research and collaboration with Assoc. Dr. Eng. Nikolay Rangelov and architect Bisera Krasteva have led to the invention of a series of "standard" solutions for industrial and commercial buildings that STRIMONA named MY METAL BUILDING.
The adopted design composition is based on cross bars with columns of rolled IPE profile and pole rafters (trusses) of square profiles. The bases of the columns are joint and the nodes between the rafters and columns are rigid. The frame openings are from 12 to 30 meters and the distance between frames is usually 6 meters. The hardiness and the loading capacity is provided by spatial defences in the building length. Links between the columns and along the roof of the building are planned. It is also planned strengthening of the truss bottoms by means of beams towards the purlins. The purlins and the wall guides are made of cold rolled U-profiles.
