The partnership between “STRIMONA” EOOD and PGMET “Yuri Gagarin” came with first results and ambitions for continuing cooperation aimed at better education and popularization of professional training of students in Professional Technical High School ‘Yuri Gagarin”
Right after the first meeting a work group was created and a one-year action plan was agreed upon to achieve functional cooperation to improve and supplement the training of the students of PGMET "Yuri Gagarin" Petrich in steel welding and to expand the opportunities for practical classes in real work environment in the “STRIMONA” factory, for further professional realization as welders and for career development in the field of welding and metallurgy. We are proud to share the first results, namely:
- On 15.05.2024 students from 10th and 11th grade came for a visit
The Theme of the visit was:
Introduction to the process of production of welding steel constructions and presentation of the opportunity for career realization for students whо graduat PGMET
The agenda of the program:
- Lecture and discussion on the topic of the visit
- Talking about career opportunities
- Instructions on safety measures on working sites
- Demonstration of MIG welding techniques and of welding with coated electrodes
- Filling in a questionnaire about the impressions from the visit
On 22.5.2024 a visit of 8th grade students took place:
The Theme for this visiting
A visit to a factory for production of welded steel structures and a presentation of the main machine park of the company, as well as a demonstration of the basic processes.
Program agenda:
- Brief lecture on the theme of the visit
- Instructions on the safety of the working environment
- Detailed tour in the “STRIMONA” factory
- Demonstration of MIG welding techniques and of welding with coated electrodes
- Attraction forklift elevating to the roof construction element of the future tallest building in Bulgaria - “Sky Fort”.
- Filling in a questionnaire about the impressions from the visit
Working group will analyze the results from the questionnaires that the students filled in order to optimize the next planned joint events.
